Well, this was week two of school and I have to admit that it was an epic fail. Sadly, I as a single mom, had so much going on that I could not sit and mono task. I had no choice but to multi-task. I had a few fires that arouse and I had to spend most of the week trying to put them out.
As much as my daughter is more than capable of being independent and working independently, she is still an eight year old who spent an entire year being allowed to not do her work if she didn’t want to by her previous teacher. So if I’m preoccupied and not able to work with her she is going to take advantage of the situation. Typical eight year old. I can’t blame her for that. I as her mother just have to keep working at teaching her that she needs to be more independent about doing her work. Sometimes all you can do as a parent is keep trying.
Nice week will be a better week. I’m happy to say that for every single fire that popped it’s head out at me this week, The Lord smacked it down and put it out for me. Thank you Lord for all of your assistance and blessing. I am proud to say that I got all of my school work turned in on time and we managed to finally get our car fixed and got all of our errands run for the week so that was a bright spot. Ultimately, though our school week didn’t go as planned and my child is now grounded until she catches up on all of her work, we had a good week and today ended up being a truly fabulous day. Every situation that had to be dealt with was and things worked in our favor.
So cheers to all of you warrior home school moms and dads our there. The bright side to
any not so good home school week is the promise of a new week to do better.
Happy weekend Everyone! Rest up! Next week is another week.
How did your week go? What do you do to make up for a week that didn’t go as planned?
