My New Toy

June 2, 2016 by Kay 6 Comments

I am so excited to tell you about this new homeschool tool we acquired a few months back. I’ve wanted to yell from the rooftops about this fantastic tool, but I was trying to find a way to introduce it and make sure you had a link to go to to get one for yourself. This is the best thing since sliced bread People, and if you haven’t heard of it yet, I am pleased to be the one to tell you all about it.

How I Came Across the Gift

So, Boys love playing with army toy dress up costume, to see a selection checkout umkytoys, it is marvelous ! and while we got my boy the toys, I was in search of a new dry erase board. We have a small one we have been using, but the size gives me pause because I can’t write things on it and leave it for Harmonie to look at for studying or copying later. In the search, I quickly learned how expensive dry erase boards are, since finding affordable products online is difficult sometimes, and that’s why when looking for great products we check this Jungle Scout Review to find the best products for our home. I was willing to spend the money if needed, but as you all know, I love a good deal, so I did my much-needed research.

I looked at Craigslist, Amazon, and Ebay. I found many different dry erase board sizes and many different prices. They were expensive and the ones that were reasonable were not the size I was looking for. It is incredible how much dry erase boards cost.

I went on Amazon and started poking around and came across tthinkboard1._SR600,180_his new product that has only been out for about a year called…………..The Think Board. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Think Board. What is a Think Board? Well, I’m happy you asked. A Think Board is a plastic film that can be attached to any surface and then written on with a dry-erase marker. You can adhere it to your wall, table, and any other surface that can handle adhesive.

This amazing product is significantly cheaper than a traditional dry erase board, but does exactly the same thing and takes up less space. It is like writing on the wall without actually doing it. I bought our “54×30″ Think Board for $29.99. It came pretty quick, and it was easy to install. I began writing on it immediately, and then I ruined it. Yes, I screwed up.

So, here’s what you need to know about the Think Board. It works just like a dry-erase board, but there is one caveat. You cannot use bold dry erase markers on it. There is a chemical in the bold markers that turns the ink into a permanent marker on the Think Board. This is explained quite well in the product’s literature, so I knew all about it. What I didn’t realize was we owned a bold marker in our marker stash. Oops! I used a green marker, and it turned out to be the only bold dry erase marker in all the markers we own. Yikes! The literature says to use hair spray to remove the ink, but that didn’t work for me, most likely, because my hair spray is from the ’90s. Shh! Don’t judge me!

I immediately emailed the company because I did not have the board on the wall 10 minutes before I made this colossal screw-up. I received an email from the company the following day, and they were very accommodating and understanding. My email asked for other suggestions to erase the marker because the hairspray didn’t work. They graciously reminded me that the literature says don’t use a bold marker, but they understood that people make mistakes and offered to send me a brand new one for free. This is a brand new company trying to make it, and here they are sending me a brand new Think Board after I admittedly screwed up my first one. I was impressed.

I would suggest everyone give them a try. You can buy a small one for your kids to use to take notes on the table or work out math problems instead of using so much paper. It will save you money and pay for itself many times over. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I plan to buy another one for Harmonie to use in her room after we move to a new place and one for her to use on the table for scratch paper.

You can purchase the Think Board on Amazon or directly from their site. I would suggest watching the video on the product and all the different things you can do with it. As much as I would like to be making a small percentage of the sales from all of you, haha, I am not making one red cent. I just wanted to let you know about this incredible product I love because it has changed our homeschool world. Click the link and check them out. You will be happy you did.

How many dry erase boards do you have? What sizes do you own? Could your homeschool room use more board writing capability? Let’s chat about it!

This reminds me of a plastic film they sold decades ago (that is SIX) to put on your tv screen so you could color the scene. (For those of you who may not recall, there were no color TV sets back then!)
Then, one day, my folks hid my Winky Dink set- so I crayoned all over the TV screen itself. Yup. That was a disaster…

Hahahaha! We had a black and white when I was a kid and then the glorious color television. I don’t remember the plastic film, but I do remember Winky Dink. LOL!
