HOW DID YOU NOT SEE THIS COMING?

November 10, 2016 by Kay Leave a Comment

OK! I’m going to write this post and do my utmost best to not write anything more about this subject after this. I’m quite tired of it myself and it is only day two.

I’ve seen a lot of hateful post on FB in the past few days. I saw more yesterday than today, but I made it a point to stay off of it as much as possible. I’m burnt out already. Here is where I felt the need to speak up.

You all know me well by now. You know and understand that when I speak it comes straight from my heart and it’s always with good intentions that I speak because my ultimate goal with my blogs is to uplift people and bring value to their lives. But, I have to ask this one simple question because people boggle my mind.question-mark-160071__180

HOW DID YOU NOT SEE THIS COMING? WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN when you voted for a man who blatantly told you to your face through his own words that he was a bully, racist, sexist, and a misogynistic prick? Why are you surprised that people are out in our society showing their true colors and are now attacking people for the color of their skin? Why are you surprised that we have been thrust into the good old days of no civil rights for blacks, no rights for women, and freedom for the good old boy?

Did you think, because a day after winning, he decided to play humble, the crazies were going to follow suit and go back to the status quo of keeping their racism, sexism, bully and bad behaviors under wraps? How foolish you were to believe such things. This is what happens when people don’t pay attention to what is going on around them and continue to allow themselves to live in La La Land. If you were paying attention and thinking past yourself, you would have thought ahead to the fact that his words and actions on the campaign trail were giving the nutballs permission to let loose on everyone in sight.

You wanted to live in the land of delusion and didn’t think of the consequences of your choice. You had a one track mind about one portion of your perceived outcome and ignored reality.

Ladies, in what universe would you ever allow a man who basically told everyone, it is okay to grab women married or not if you want to because “that’s what boys do”, be in charge of you and yours? Anyone who is not of European descent, in what universe would you ever allow anyone who basically calls your people criminals, threaten to send them back to their native land, even if this is that land, and implies that bringing back concentration camps would be a good idea, to be in charge of your freedom and rights. Finally, well-educated people, republicans, did you not see the quote where he said he would run as a republican because they will believe anything he said because they are stupid. How did you not feel irritated about such thoughts and run in the opposite direction?

Listen, I hate politics for this very reason. Everyone is twisted and crooked for the most part. Obama ran this country gracefully for eight years and I couldn’t be prouder. I didn’t like either candidate. I was not thrilled to be in a position of having to choose the lesser of two evils, but I had to make a choice like each and every one of you, and I did. I voted for the other guy because I didn’t put blinders on about what was coming from such a man.

My point to all of this is simply this. I find it irritating, insulting, and maddening that just yesterday you were gloating and telling anyone who said they wanted to leave the country……”Bye Felicia”, as I saw so many times, and undervaluing anyone who expressed their fear for what was to come, and now today you want to act shocked and surprised that people are living out their dreams to terrorize others and take us back to the days before the civil rights movement began. What the fuck, yes I said it, is wrong with you?

wtf-1780728__180Listen to me carefully! Regardless of whether he really meant what he said or not, he gave the crazy people in our country permission to behave badly. Anyone who does that is not worthy of the office and should not be placed as a role model for anyone. That was irresponsible and another reason why he is not fit to lead us. Because people blindly did what they always do, vote without thinking and looking at the bigger picture, we are all in danger. So, even if he was talking out of his butt just to get votes, he opened a can of worms that took less than twelve hours to be unleashed upon all of us and voting him into office gave them a green light to go on the attack.

For the sake of everyone who genuinely is living in fear on a daily basis more than ever before, please refrain from acting shocked and concerned now that people are being attacked on both sides. Yesterday we were overreacting remember. Today you are outraged. Get it together. That is not okay and it’s getting old. People in this country have done this crap for years. It is never real until it happens to you. Grow up as you all were telling the rest of us yesterday, and get your heads out of your butts. Stand up straight, use your brain, and find a way to help the rest of us fix this mess before we all end up living in a country where we are segregated and viciously attacked from all sides.eye-1769896__180

I have family in law enforcement and family who have been attacked by the very people who are meant to serve and protect them. I’m on everyone’s side. I don’t want to see anyone hurt, but the truth is you can’t negotiate with stupid or crazy and now we all have to deal with stupid and crazy. Black, brown, white, gay, Catholic, Muslim whatever. Don’t be blind! We are all targets now.

I’m not here to blame anyone of anything. We are all responsible for what happens in this country. We all have the right to vote, at least we do right now. We have all been sleeping on the job and not demanding more from our elected politicians, so we are all to blame. It is time to bring back integrity, morality, and decency to our country. I’m just hoping that everyone, with good common sense, opens their eyes and start demanding more and excepting nothing less than what we expect and deserve from our elected officials.

Now if you feel you deserve a bully who is racist, sexist, and misogynistic, to name a few, then you got what you asked for. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you get exactly what you were expecting.

In the meantime, I have a child to raise and protect. She happens to be a double minority so forgive me if I feel like I may have to consider leaving my home, the country my ancestors were raped and murder for, the country I love,  to protect her from harm. I don’t understand half of the things I have seen people I know and love post, but I’m going to reserve the right to not judge them for their opinion regardless of how it makes me feel and love them anyway. I hope you all can do the same and stand up for those who have a different experience than you. God bless you all.
